Top Quality Napa Syrah 43% Off

Burgess Napa Valley Wine SpecialWhen most people think of Napa Valley they think of Cabernet. There is, however, some excellent Syrah grown in Napa Valley as well. The style of Syrah that is grown in Napa is not like what is grown in Australia. Napa Syrah has more in common with the wines from the northern part of the Rhone valley like the Saint Joseph appellation. For example, the 2009 Burgess Syrah Napa Valley (Reg. $28.99) has a silky structure with a blackberry and crème di cassis fruit character and it finishes with a nice mix of licorice and spice. Burgess blends Syrah from two of their vineyards for this wine. One vineyard located on Howell Mountain for richness and great fruit concentration, and the other in the cool Oak Knoll district for the excellent structure and balance that fruit provides. The Burgess winery put the remaining inventory of the excellent 2009 vintage Syrah on deep discount recently so they can introduce the 2010 vintage on schedule later this year. The 2009 Burgess Syrah is now on sale for $15.99 each while supplies last. If you would like to reserve this wine, please contact Dave at

Wine of the Week | 2010 Cuatro Pasos Mencia

cuatro-pasos-botellaRegular $14.99, Sale Price $8.99

88 Recommended: Another custom cuvee created for Eric Solomon, this 2010 is produced from 80-year-old Mencia vines in the cool climate Bierzo appellation. Aged in tank, it is a naked, virginal red, exhibiting a dark ruby/purple color along with lots of crisp cranberry, blueberry and raspberry fruit, soft tannins, an attractive, medium-bodied mouthfeel and a cool, zesty finish. Reminiscent of a ripe vintage of Loire Valley Cabarnet Franc, it should drink well for 3-4 years.
