91 Point “Smart Buy” Cru Bourgeois Medoc On Sale Now
Several of the great 2010 vintage Bordeaux wines that I sampled at the premiere events in Bordeaux back in 2011 have gone on to win awards (see more in the next paragraph). One of them was the 2010 Chateau du Retout Cru Bourgeois Haut-Medoc ($19.99 – 91 Points “Smart Buy” Wine Spectator). This blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Merlot out-performed Cru Bourgeois Medocs costing nearly twice as much. I secured as much as I could get (which is only a few cases due to the small production of this wine) and now it has arrived. With aeration, you can enjoy this wine now, but ideally, I would cellar it for another year. It is one of the best values on the “left bank” of Bordeaux available. If you would like to reserve this wine, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. At this price and score, I expect it to sell out fast.
Bordeaux Gold Medal Winner Mix-of-Six Special Offer
As I mentioned in the paragraph above, many of the 2010 Bordeaux wines that I sampled in Bordeaux have gone on to win awards. I was very impressed with how well the “Petit Chateaux” category of wines showed at premiere, and many of them have taken gold medals at various wine competitions since the premiere. The Petit Chateaux wines are small producers of modestly priced Bordeaux from the Entre-deux-Mers region between the 2 major rivers of Bordeaux. Since most of you may not have ever sampled these wines, I have put together a 2010 Mix of Six Gold Medal Winners Bordeaux pack for the special price of $75. If you would like to reserve this six pack (description listed below), please contact me at email@example.com.
A cool climate has given this wine bracing acidity and gentle-yet-persistent tannins. Its flavors of wild Raspberries and cherries, with spice and mineral overtones, are delicious. There’s a feral quality that expresses umami perfectly, suggesting butter-sauteed, tamari-splashed mushrooms and crisped prosciutto. The oak is powerful and present in the form of toast and sweet vanilla, but perfectly balanced with the wine’s volume. For all its richness, the wine finishes bone dry. Drink this impeccable Pinot Noir now through 2020. Steve Heimoff, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
