Last Call for 94 Point Rated Languedoc Red
We have sold several pallets of one of wine importer extraordinaire Eric Solomon’s best under $20 French wines – Chateau Puech-Haut Cuvee Prestige – over the last few vintages. This blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Cargignan is similar to high-end Chateauneuf-du-Papes without the earthy finish. It is a complex red at a crowd pleasing price ($17.99). The current 2010 (94 points The Rhone Report) release is the best yet. The fruit concentration is in perfect balance with the acidity, so it is full-bodied without being heavy on the palate. The terrific structure of this wine leads me to believe that it will continue to improve with cellaring until at least the end of this decade. When I heard the supply of the 2010 Puech-Haut was coming to an end, I bought up what was left because 2011 and 2012 do not look to be as high-quality vintages in the Languedoc region. I recommend buying this one by the case. If you would like to reserve a case of the 2010 Chateau Puech-Haut Cuvee Prestige for the special price of $200, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
